Omni Day 18-21

well...Today is June 2nd. I have now been on this crazy journey for a total of 2 complete months. This week I added in bikram yoga and have been going every other day. I am eating normal..which is healthy. It consists of my daily homemade smoothie with coconut water, keifer yogurt, frozen fruit and a spoonful of peanut butter. I want to add in some hemp protein. I have some fish and salad for lunch and the same for dinner...or chicken.
My TAM workout some days is all 30 minutes of MS and other days it is just arms and abs. I do not do the dance cardio, it hurts my knees.
As of today, I am down 33.25 inches and 18 lbs.
Here are my numbers

Omni Day 18

With my TAM Complete and a great deal on livingsocial.com...I am about to leave the house for Mile High Bikram Yoga. It is only about 10 blocks away and for $39.00 for unlimited 1 month..how could I say no. I haven't done Bikram in years...Im talking maybe 6 years. I do know that it is great and works and you feel nice and sweaty and clean after the shower...so hopefully it will be a nice added touch to my day.
However, I am not looking forward to having to pay full price next month.

Omni Day 10, 11, 12, & 13

Well I am on sequence 2 finally. I like it a bit better. I still think the arms and abs should be run through twice and the legs I am still working on my balance.
Today is Day 13 but I am taking it off.
On day 11 we flew to Florida for a very quick family celebration and vacation. We have been eating out and at parties, but I have done my best to eat Tracy approved type menu. ... meat and spinach...eggs and fruit etc. I am still drinking my tea and feeling great.
Today at the party I felt great, feel I looked great and everything was just fantastic.
I love the confidence and determination that I have gained from this whole TAM experience.

Finally

I returned my Saucony Sneakers and bought a pair of Asics yesterday. Originally $179.99 and I gout them for $99.00
They have nice squishy padding on the heels and quite a forgiving toe. I very much needed them because of my old Nike Free's. I have  had some issues with my knees lately. But, after talking to the pharmacist, she said it is dehydration...interesting. I can't wait to do my DC with these. I am off to get dressed for my first full hour of workout in a week. My MS only takes about 20 minutes and then I extend it to 30 by adding in arms and abs twice. I am really excited waiting for day 11 so I can switch to the second sequence. I hope it is more challenging.

New kicks

Finally! I bought a new pair of sneakers. I absolutely loved them. They are so coushiony and will definitely help with my dance cardio. I put them on and jumped around the store to see how they felt. I got them at outdoor divas. However, when I left the store, and looked them up online I realized I could get them in pink and not blue like the store had! So, tomorrow I will bring them back and either have them order me a pink pair or I will order them myself online.

Omni Day 5

Today is a bust...in a nutshell.
I had to work today from 10:15-6 which means I left around 9:15. We had a huge family issue last night and I didn't sleep well. Then, this morning I was on the phone and talking through all of it.
I had carrot and parsnip puree for breakfast. For lunch I had a COBB salad with no dressing and I haven't even begun to think about dinner.
I did not work out and doubt I will get it done tonight.
Most of my premade foods are gone. A few actually went bad in the fridge.

Omni day 4

Ok, so today is Day 4. I wizzed through my workout and actually replayed the first 10 minutes (abs and arms) and then attempted to step touch the dance cardio. Well, that is impossible because you just want to jump all the time. So, I stopped. My knee is being a bitch and I am food running tonight at work so I should get some cardio in there :) Also, when I get new sneakers I know it will help, but I really need money before that happens...maybe in June then.
In the meantime, I am eating well. I absolutely love making kale chips and eating them like crazy.
I have started using myfitnesspal.com and the app on my phone. It really shows you how much you burn, take in, should lose etc. It says if I follow along this path, in 5 weeks I should have my 10 lbs gone. The TAM menu is very low cal...but I am not ever hungry so I think it is okay.
I am not overly sore, but I feel a difference in my legs mostly. I can also see a difference in the skin above my knee. It looks like it is tighter and not so wrinkly...which I love because I hate wearing shorts and maybe this summer I will buy my first pair in years.

Omni Day 3

This morning I got up and had my MS work done in time to then get ready for work. It wasn't so difficult, but I may run through the arms and abs portion twice...I feel like Im not getting a good enough workout with them. I ate all my puree's and stayed within my cleanse even though I went to work.
However, my knees are acting weird. I have never had an injury or anything before so I don't know why they hurt. I definitely know that I need new shoes and my work ones should be in soon. Hopefully that will help. I am not going to do my DC tonight. I know that that is bad, but I just don't want to ruin something. Maybe it is an excuse but throbbing knees is not something a 30 year old should have.
If Adam goes to the gym tonight, I will go and walk on the treadmill while he works out to stay moving, but I don't want to do any jumping. Maybe I should just step touch the DC...who knows.
So, that is day 3. It is going by quickly. I can't wait to be a part of the real weeks of food, I don't think my cravings will be as bad then. We shall see.

Omni Day 2...Day 1 Floor Training

Today I woke up early so I could be sure to get my TAM in before work. I managed all of the muscle work and 15 minutes of the cardio. After that, I just couldn't lift my legs anymore. I should have just tapped it out but instead gave it up.
I ate my corn puree and blueberry applesauce. Then, I was craving turkey bacon...since Ad was having it for his breakfast, he made me a slice.
I went to work and had my first on the floor training day. It has really been 9 months since I have worked. I was exhausted. My back hurt and honestly, my left knee was throbbing as I sat on the bus on the way home. While at work, the trainer ordered Spaghetti Carbonara. I did try it, but kept my serving to about 3/4 a cup. It was good, but definitely not my favorite dish in the place.
Adam was as sweet as could be. I got home, climbed on the couch and fell asleep. Adam made a frozen BBQ chicken pizza and added some cauliflower to it. I had my pieces with hot pepper on top and loved it. I also had 1/2 a pack of 100 calorie popcorn. So, as you can see, I didn't follow my cleanse or complete my workout fully. I still don't see the day as a failure. I see it as one that I will just have to do better tomorrow.

Meta Omni Day 1

Today I began Meta (metamorphosis) Omni (Omnicentric) by Tracy Anderson. I successfully finished the 30 day bootcamp and am very happy with the food menu, workout and results. So, I spend $89.00 and bout the 90 day program. It basically consists on a menu and DVD's along with a few paper pamphlets and a tape measure.
Each day you work out for an hour..30 minutes muscle work and 30 minutes dance cardio. The cardio is actually pretty fun and the muscle work is over before you know it. The food choices are pretty easy to follow...the only difference I have done since we don't have a juicer is make kale chips and eat them with beets and spinach...no juicer.
The workout is basically 6 days on, 1 day off and every 10 days of workout you switch to the next level. You can have 1 glass of wine, 3 nights a week, drink as much tea as you want and well that is about it when it comes to straying from the menu.

Week 1 is a cleanse of sorts...she calls it a Nutriet Boost Week....basically I have one serving of Power Juice (which I explained what I do instead), Blueberry Applesauce (Blackberries were cheaper this week, so I bought them instead), Sweet Potato Corn Pudding (yum!), Carrot Parsnip Puree (tastes like my mom's mashed potatoes and carrots and potatos), Gazpacho (tomato yumminess), Chicken Protein Soup and Chocolate Pudding (homemade). Work out each day...easy enough.

So, Day 1 down. On day 10 I will measure again to see what is going on. But, each morning as I step on the scale, I tend to be .5 lbs lighter...it is pretty cool. Today I put on a pair of jeans that haven't fit in years and I weighed less than I did when I graduated College in 2002. I am very excited to see what changes are still to be made. My lower body still needs some work, but I totally trust the workouts and feel that this lifestyle change is one that I can keep up with...very easily.

I weighed myself yesterday and this morning and I am down 10 lbs. 132 to 122! I can't remember the last time I was this light so to speak. Day 25/26

Alright, So today is day 25, but I am going to start my cleanse today. This should be all the food I need for the next 6 days.
The menu is as follows:
Breakfast: Blueberry Applesauce and Sweet Potato Corn Pudding

Lunch: Tomato Gazpacho, Edamame and Carrot with Cayenne, and Kiwi
Snack: Kale Juice - I'll eat a few Kale Chips instead
Dinner: Chicken Soup
Dessert - Choco Chestnut Pudding

I am sure that I will be able to keep up with it. I start work this week so I will stay very busy. Im excited to see what these last days of BC will entail.

Day 23

Oh TAM, You are truly killing me. I am moody, I am so sore, I hurt! Day 23 is three days into the new sequence. I find myself definitely unable to do my cardio after my muscle work because my body is so tired. When I watch the video of MC moves, I really want to throw the remote at Tracy's face. She looks so smug and almost to the point of not even enjoying herself when she does the moves. She looks almost like a robot.
See how mean I am being.
I also received my Meta in the mail. Meaning, it is the 90 day program I will work with after next Sunday when I am done with my original bootcamp. I was so disappointed. For $90 I got a very light cardboard box. In it were 5 DVD's inside of a paperback CD holder. Then, instead of a nice published book, I received a stapled pamphlet with recipes and exercise trackers. Some company must have also supplied tape measures for her because that was a nice little surprise gift.
For me, it wasn't that big of a deal because I am motivated and loving the workouts. But, lets say I am a first time user of TAM. I am all motivated, or so I say to get in shape, so I spend $90 and order Meta. It comes in the mail and I think to myself, wow, this is totally not motivating. I don't know. I posted this in the TAM facebook fan page and was told off by many people that the packaging doesn't count...which to me is a complete hypocritical statement because we are all doing TAM based on her package (meaning body).
Anyway, I havent been sleeping well due to my soreness so maybe that is why I am so crabby. I am also not okay with the fact that I can't get through my cardio because I am so exhausted.
I am however, doing very good on the food. The menu is still delish and I find anytime I alter, I think the food tastes pretty gross and oily. So, I can tell that my cravings and need for different foods is definitely changing.
I also now have a workout partner through facebook. She too is doing the TAM but is already on Meta. Each day we message each other our true food and workout choices, holding each other accountable.
Overall, I feel great. I did go to buy a new pair of pants for work yesterday and bought the same size as normal. But, thats okay. I feel positive about my inches and weight loss. I will not measure again until Monday. But, as of this past Monday I was down a total of 16 cumulative inches and 8 lbs. I see most of the loss in my face, upper torso, and waist. I guess my rear and thighs will be the last since they are the most stubborn.
I also am pretty proud of myself for sticking with something for 23 days...for me, that's big.

exhaustion

Im exhausted and am not sure why. My workout isn't really any more strenuous, my schedule hasn't really changed. I am still waking up at the same time and going to bed about the same time. It is 9:15 pm and I am about to crash. Why oh why am I so tired?

TAM day, 19

4.17

This is a picture of my brother and I. He is visiting from Florida. Good News, he says I look great.Like Ive lost 15 lbs...he's a guy...I would only give myself 5...but my scale should be here this week so I can finally see a number based on what TAM has done in these first 18 days.

My week on TAM went well. I am totally in a decent routine. I am happy with the exercises and see muscles in my arms and shoulders when I work out and it feels good. I also got my hair cut and dyed this week and feel extra fantastic.

One bad thing about my brother being in town is that he likes to eat out. I don't. Adam and I are on a tight budget right now until we both find solid work (we have only been in Denver for a month now). But, since Brandon is visiting, we have gone out. Friday we took a tour of the Coors Brewery in Golden. It was a lot of fun and I did drink 1/2 a beer. But, I didn't even want it. It tasted great but my mind talked myself out of finishing it. Then we went to Dave and Busters for dinner. I ordered a salad with chicken. No dressing and used lemons. I felt okay after eating it but was like why did I spend $12 on a salad I could have made at home?

Yesterday we went to Breckenridge to see the cute town. The ski town was great, but so cold. The bright colors and totally hip fashion of the mountain was fun to look at. There was so much snow and coming from Florida it was like a dream. We went to the Breckenridge Brewery and I had a Vanilla Porter. It was delish!!! I didn't finish it, but really enjoyed it and ordered a chicken sandwich for lunch. I only ate the bottom part of the bun but did indulge in sweet potato fries. They were really good but I truly felt sick all night. Even this morning as I type I can still feel the food in my belly.

So, I figured I should check my measurements. I am down 13 cm which is about 5 inches.

Im happy about it, but know that today and tomorrow and probably Tuesday we will eat out one meal a day. I don't feel bad about eating the food, it is more how I feel after...it really does hurt.

Anyway, I am really happy TAM came into my life and have ordered Meta, the next workout series. It is 90 days and I will start right after I am done with BC.
